João Gonzalez

1996年、ポルトガルのポルト生まれのアニメーションを学ぶ学生であり、4歳のころからピアノを弾くミュージシャン。ポルトの芸術大学ESMADのマルチメディア・アート・コースを2017年に卒業し、アニメーションを専攻した。その間にもピアノは独学で続けた。初めての短編アニメーション『The Voyager』は彼のピアノの生演奏が最大の題材になっており、BFIフューチャー映画祭、シナニマ国際アニメーション映画祭、モンストラ・リスボンアニメーション映画祭などの映画祭で11の賞を受賞した。現在は、ロンドンのロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アートにてアニメーションを学んでいる。

João Gonzalez, born and raised in Portugal (Porto, 1996) is an animation student and a musician, playing the piano since he was 4. He took the Multimedia Arts course at ESMAD university in Porto, where he graduated in 2017, specialising in the field of Animation and continuing to study piano independently. His first animation short film "The Voyager”, which features a live musical piano performance whenever it’s possible, got 11 awards in film festivals such as BFI Future Film Festival, CINANIMA and MONSTRA. Right now, João is studying Animation at the Royal College of Art in London.
